Almost as Good as Printing Money

Looking for a quick, easy way to save some money and resources? Extend the life of your printer ink and toner cartridges by choosing a font which prints using less ink than others. Printer.com, a Dutch company, recommends the following five fonts to minimize the amount of ink used when printing:

Century Gothic

Times New Roman

Calibri

Veranda

Arial

The University of Wisconsin- Green Bay is on the bandwagon. They expect to save $5,000 to $10,000 per year on ink and toner cartridges by changing the email system to read in Century Gothic, and encouraging the faculty/staff to make it their default font. This is one simple change that can really add up. You can also download Ecofont, which is like the swiss cheese of fonts. Small holes invisible to the naked eye line letters, saving ink.

Of course, you should always think before you print; but if you do, choose one of these eco-friendly fonts.
